  • Creditors’ letters and contact of any sort
  • Lawsuits
  • Garnishment
  • Bank account levy
  • Utility service shutoff
  • Foreclosures
  • Vehicle repossessions
  • Evictions.

Bankruptcy laws also provide the following benefits:

  • Restore power company services
  • Wipe out Debt
  • Restore drivers’ license
  • Eliminate income tax debt (based on circumstances)
The bankruptcy code lists the reasons why specific debt may not be eliminated (discharge) in a chapter 7 and chapter 13. The main reason for denying a discharge of a specific debt for both chapters, is based on some kind of fraud. There are few types of debt that may be discharged in a chapter 13 and not in a chapter 7. For example, equitable distribution, is the division of assets between spouses involved in a divorce action. Equitable distribution does not include alimony or support of any kind. Equitable Distribution may only be eliminated in a chapter 13.
